Rioned Relaunch the UrbanJet
In response to demand across the European drain and sewer cleaning sector, Rioned has recently relaunched the most compact jetter in its range of van-pack machines. The new UrbanJet now features an 18.5KW Kubota Diesel Engine, which meets EU Stage V emission regulations for non-road diesel engines.
Pitched as an affordable high-performance jetting machine designed for single-operator use, the UrbanJet delivers 3000psi @ 10gpm and is capable of unblocking drains up to 350mm. Built to be installed in compact 3.5t vans, the new lightweight unit is feature rich, including a hydraulically driven high-pressure hose and the award-winning eControl+ user interface.
Mark Cox, Rioned’s UK Sales Manager, says the manufacturer can justifiably claim to be ahead of the competition when it comes to building EU emissions-compliant drain cleaning equipment.
“We’ve been developing Tier 4 Emission Standards equipment for sister company, Spartan Tool, in the US for several years,” he explains. “Over there they’ve had much tighter emission standards than Europe for several years. This means we’ve tried and tested the technology and equipment needed to build the next generation of machines for the European market.”
This year Rioned has released a range of emissions-compliant equipment, including the RioCom PTO-driven combination tanker and the petrol-engine CityJet van-pack. While the full impact of the new regulations is not likely to be felt until mid-2020, for contractors working in Europe’s growing number of Ultra-Low Emission Zones (ULEZ), such as those already in place in London, Paris, Amsterdam and Milan, new or retrofitted compliant equipment is already a necessity.
