20 Years of CityJet Evolution
This year marks an extraordinary milestone for Rioned, as the company celebrate 20 years of the CityJet. Since its launch in 2005, the CityJet has become the world’s best-selling van-pack jetter, trusted by utility companies and drainage professionals worldwide for its unmatched performance, reliability, and innovation.
To honour this achievement, Rioned is excited to announce a CityJet Anniversary Package, featuring an exclusive upgrade to the advanced Riomote Radio Remote Control system. As an additional commitment to quality, Rioned is also introducing a new 2-year Warranty on a range of van-pack, trailer and portable machines, including the CityJet.

Marking Two Decades of Dominance
Since its launch in 2005, the CityJet has set new standards in drain jetting innovation. Its revolutionary design introduced features like a pivoting hose reel and heat exchanger-based cooling, establishing it as a game-changer in the industry.
Over the years, the CityJet has continued to evolve. In 2008, mechanical run-free technology enhanced usability. The 2011 debut of the ECO version introduced noise damping, engine start/stop functionality, and a pulsator for energy efficiency, while the 2013 launch of the warm water version expanded its versatility.
A major redesign in 2014 introduced MaxFlow hoses to reduce pressure loss, a 180-degree pivoting hose reel, and a larger high-pressure reel for increased capacity. The following year, Rioned replaced push-button controls with the intuitive eControl+ system, which provided real-time operational and machine data through a sophisticated interface. This innovation enhanced efficiency, garnered a prestigious Red Dot award, and marked a turning point toward smarter operations.
In 2019, Rioned introduced the eCityJet, the industry’s first all-electric high-performance jetter, signalling a shift toward zero-emission, sustainable drainage solutions. The innovation continued in 2020 with the launch of the Stage V diesel engine, which included a redesigned 180-degree pivoting reel, and a CityJet industrial petrol engine with a patented exhaust cooling system.
By 2024, Rioned unveiled the next-generation eControl Touch system, offering advanced diagnostics, enhanced functionality, and operational intelligence. Paired with the new RioMote remote control featuring an LED display, this future-ready platform prioritises efficiency, sustainability, and connectivity, further solidifying the CityJet as a leader in innovation and reliability.
